An automatic safety cover can help limit access to the water when properly closed. It belongs alongside attentive supervision and other pool safety measures.
Cover closed. Care stays on.
A cover is an important part of pool safety—not a replacement for adult supervision, barriers, or your manufacturer’s instructions.
Keep people and pets off the cover, keep access to controls secure, and have a trained adult operate the system with the entire pool in view.
Make sure everyone is out of the pool. Remove floats, toys, and anything that could obstruct the cover.
Before opening
Remove standing water and debris using the recommended equipment. Check the water level and follow your system’s operating instructions.
If something changes
Stop if the cover binds, runs unevenly, or shows damage. Call a qualified technician rather than forcing the mechanism.
Requirements vary by system. Follow the owner’s manual for your specific cover, including water level, cover-pump use, weather limits, and winter care.
